Lykke Li

Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson aka Lykke Li, is a Swedish singer that took the world by storm in 2008 with the release of her debut album Youth Novels. Li's parents were also musicians way back when.  Li grew up living in various places around Europe and Asia, which perhaps adds to her very unique indie music style.  

Just last week Lykke Li released her sophomore album Wounded Rhymes, which is darker and less "sweet" sounding than Youth Novels. The first single from Wounded Rhymes, "Get Some" is the epitome of her new sound, with lyrics like "I'm your prostitute, you gon' get some", you'll see what I mean:

You can see Lykee Li this Wednesday night at the El Rey Theatre in LA with Johnossi.  Tickets are $28 and the show starts at 8:00pm.  If you can't make it Wednesday then you'll still be able to catch Lykke Li on May 31st at the Wiltern!
